Helping Hand for Relief and Development continues life saving flood relief efforts across Pakistan
ISLAMABAD, Sep 14 (EPI): Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD), a US-based global humanitarian organization established by Pakistani Americans, has emerged as a beacon of hope for millions of vulnerable families in Pakistan. As the organization marks its 20th year of service, it has successfully implemented over 10,000 relief and development projects worldwide, benefiting nearly 45 million people across 132 districts in all provinces of Pakistan, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
In recognition of these efforts, the Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, lauded HHRD’s announcement of a $5 million Recuperation & Rehabilitation Package for flood-affected communities, calling it a commendable example to follow.
He praised HHRD as one of the Top Four-Star Charities in the USA, working tirelessly to serve humanity.
Following the devastating floods of 2025, which displaced millions and destroyed thousands of homes, HHRD has been at the forefront of emergency response.
According to Country Director HHRD Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Saleem Mansoori, the organization has served more than 110,000 people in 20 districts across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Relief operations have included the deployment of movable water filtration systems, mobile health clinics, search-and-rescue teams on boats, food provisions, SMILES Boxes for children, hygiene kits, and other essential supplies. The districts served include Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Sialkot, Kasur, Lahore, Sargodha, Jhang, Mandi Bahauddin, Buner, Swat, Mansehra, Ghizer, Gilgit, Neelum Valley, Chakwal, and Rawalpindi.
Beyond flood response, HHRD’s development programs continue to make a lasting impact. The Orphan Support Program provides education, healthcare, and emotional support to over 10,500 orphaned children, while the Children with Disabilities Program has delivered specialized therapies to more than 2,000 children.
The Educational Support Program and Youth Empowerment Program together have empowered tens of thousands of students with scholarships, school construction, internships, and leadership training opportunities.
The Skills Development and Livelihood Program has trained over 78,000 individuals, with a strong focus on empowering women through vocational training and income-generating opportunities.
In the healthcare sector, HHRD has established specialized hospitals, mobile clinics, health centers, and ambulance services to extend life-saving care to underserved areas. Through Water for Life projects, the organization has provided access to clean drinking water for more than 2 million people, reducing the spread of waterborne diseases.
With a proven record of reaching 10.4 million disaster-affected individuals from around 70 small and large scale emergences during two deceit across Pakistan, HHRD remains a trusted partner in both relief and long-term development. As Pakistan recovers from the catastrophic floods of 2025, HHRD’s mission of compassion and service continues to provide dignity, survival, and hope for a brighter future.
