ISLAMABAD, Mar 12 (EPI): Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq called on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.The Speaker briefed PML N President and Former PM Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on the current session of the National Assembly, the legislative process, key parliamentary matters, and the performance of the 16th National Assembly\u2019s first parliamentary year. During the meeting, Nawaz Sharif appreciated the Speaker\u2019s role in running the proceedings of the House with fairness despite protests and disruptions perpetrated by the opposition. He emphasized that common people are not interested protests, sloganeering, or disorder as they want solution of their issues.<\/p>\n
Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif also appreciated that the Speaker, as the “Custodian of the House,” played an effective role in facilitating dialogue between the government and the opposition. However, he lamented that negotiations failed to yield results due to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf\u2019s (PTI) obstinate and non serious approach.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, Mian Muhamamd Nawaz Sharif emphasized the importance of parliamentary supremacy, legislation in the public interest, and strengthening democracy. He stated that a strong parliament is essential for political stability and public welfare in the country.<\/p>\n
