VIENNA, May 20 (EPI): Pakistan\u2019s delegation to the 34th Session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), held in Vienna, was led by Raja Naeem Akbar , Federal Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice.<\/p>\n
The delegation also included Ehsan Sadiq, National Focal Person on the UNTOC Review Mechanism, and Khalid Mahmood Chauhan, National Coordinator of NACTA, among other senior officials.<\/p>\n
On the sidelines of the session, Pakistan organized two side events highlighting the country\u2019s efforts in judicial reform and the prevention of violent extremism (PVE).<\/p>\n
Speaking at the high-level forum, the Secretary Law emphasized Pakistan\u2019s ongoing commitment to strengthening the rule of law, modernizing its judicial infrastructure, and enhancing the efficiency of public sector litigation. He introduced one of Pakistan\u2019s flagship digital initiatives, the Case Assignment and Management System (CAMS), as a significant leap towards transparent, technology-driven governance in the legal domain.<\/p>\n
\u201cCAMS is not just another IT tool; it is a transformative, web-based litigation management platform designed to streamline the Federal Government\u2019s handling of legal cases,\u201d stated Secretary Akbar during his address. \u201cFrom case registration to final adjudication, CAMS ensures transparency, real-time monitoring, and seamless interdepartmental coordination.\u201d<\/p>\n
Developed in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Pakistan and with support from the Government of Canada, CAMS was launched to address inefficiencies in the traditional, paper-based methods of case management.
