ISLAMABAD, Aug\u00a0 21 (EPI) :\u00a0 Waqafi Mohtasib\u00a0 Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi, visited the Federal Ombudsperson against Harassment, Ms. Fauzia Viqar on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Both Mr. Qureshi and Ms. Viqar discussed ways for enhancing the effectiveness of the Offices of Federal and Provincial Ombudspersons.<\/p>\n
It was agreed between them that the priority areas included strengthening digital capacity, implementing robust monitoring mechanisms and launching nationwide awareness campaigns to inform people of the availability of citizen-centric institutions like the Ombudsperson Office.<\/p>\n
The role of international ombudsman organizations such as the Asian Ombudsman Association, of which Qureshi is President, was also appreciated for providing a platform to Ombudspersons from across the world to share best practices.<\/p>\n
Qureshi and Ms. Viqar expressed a strong commitment to continue working for the rights of the people and to cooperating with one another for the benefit of all.
