Acting President Ayaz Sadiq warmly welcomes successful negotiations between Govt &  Joint Action Committee in AJK

ISLAMABAD, Oct 04 (EPI): Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq after assuming charge as Acting President of Pakistan has warmly welcomed the successful negotiation between the Government’s Negotiation Committee and the Joint Action Committee in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

He stated that the agreement between the two sides is positive and constructive development, emphasizing that the restoration of peace and normalcy in the region is a matter of great satisfaction.

Acting President Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also said that with the successful negotiation, all baseless rumours and conspiracies against Pakistan have been laid to rest.

He commended the efforts of both the Government’s negotiation team and the Joint Action Committee for their responsible and result-oriented approach.

The Acting president reiterated that public welfare and peace remain the chief priority of the government of Pakistan. He urged all stakeholders to focus on unity and national development instead of paying heed to unfounded rumours.

“Pakistan and Kashmir are inseparable. The protection of the rights of the Kashmiri people will always remain our foremost priority,” he added.

Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Assumes Responsibilities as Acting President of Pakistan

Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has assumed the responsibilities of the Acting President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Under Article 49(2) of the Constitution of Pakistan, in the absence of both the President and the Chairman Senate, the Speaker National Assembly performs the functions of the Acting President.

Accordingly, Secretary Cabinet Division, Kamran Ali Afzal, has issued the official notification confirming that Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has assumed the charge of Acting President.

He will continue to discharge these responsibilities until the return of the President and Chairman Senate to the country.
