Parliamentary Committee on National Security to Convene at Parliament House Amid Extraordinary Security Measures – NA Spokesperson
ISLAMABAD, Mar 17 (EPI): Extraordinary security arrangements have been put in place at the Parliament House and its surrounding areas for the in-camera meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security. Senior government and military leadership will participate in the meeting, during which a detailed discussion on the country’s overall security situation will take place.
The spokesperson stated that all parliamentary leaders of political parties, along with their designated representatives, will attend the meeting. During this important session, the military leadership will brief the parliamentary committee on the security challenges being faced by the country and the measures taken to address them.
Furthermore, to ensure security during the meeting, law enforcement agencies have been placed on high alert, and stringent security measures have been implemented within and around the Parliament House.
The meeting will be held in-camera, and media personnel will not be granted access to the Parliament building. The press cards issued which have been issued to the media personnel will be rendered ineffective on Tuesday, the 18th March 2025.
Additionally, no unauthorized individuals will be allowed entry into the Parliament House premises during the meeting. Moreover, carrying mobile phones inside the National Assembly Hall will not be permitted at all during the session of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security.
