Court adjourns Ashiyana Iqbal corruption case hearing till Oct 28
LAHORE, Oct 07 (EPI) : Accountability court of Lahore on Saturday has adjourned the hearing of Shahbaz Sharif application seeking discharge from Ashiyana Iqbal housing Scheme case till Oct 28.
The court has directed other parties of case to conclude their arguments by next date of hearing.
earlier Ex premier’s counsel Amjad pervaiz has started arguments before court of judge Malik Ali Zurqarnain Awan .
During the course of hearing ex director general Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Ahad Khan and representative of Shahbaz Sharif Advocate Anwar Hussain also appeared before the court.
Advocate Amjad Pervaiz while arguing the case contended that Nab initiated this inquiry on application filed by unknown person and Nab reference was filed on speculations without any evidence. It was a political motivated case.
Learned judge asked counsel to read the allegations leveled on Shahbaz Sharif. Lawyer responded that reference says contracts of the said project had been awarded without merit, adding that DG LDA Ahad Cheema had given approval of the project which was started on Public, private partnership.
It has been said that SPARCO Developers and Bismillah Engineering completed development work but Nab completely failed to bring corruption evidence, counsel Amjad Pervaiz argued.
