Calls for Muslim Unity and a New Information Ecosystem at The Echo of Palestine International Conference

ISLAMABAD, Feb 16 (EPI): The second day of The Echo of Palestine International Conference in Islamabad opened with the keynote address of Sardar Masood Ahmad Khan, former President of Azad Kashmir and Pakistan’s ex-envoy to the United Nations.

Presiding over the morning session, he emphasized the need for the Muslim world to break free from Western-dominated narratives and create its own information ecosystem.

He stated that the global information system is largely controlled by the West, and if the Muslim world wants to challenge oppression effectively, it must develop its own platforms, narratives, and voices.

He also called for a reassessment of global engagement, stressing that while the Muslim world must define its own role, it should not isolate itself from the wider international community.

Khan further warned of growing geopolitical threats, expressing concern that Gulf states could be the next target amid rising global tensions. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s longstanding support for Palestine and highlighted the increasing pressure on Arab nations following statements from former U.S. President Donald Trump.

They emphasized the need for collaborating with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to develop a strategic and unified response. Additionally, they called for a global movement to highlight the Palestinian issue and advocate for Palestinian rights.

As the conference progresses, discussions continue on the crisis in Gaza, global advocacy for Palestine, and future strategies for diplomatic, political, and media engagement.
