Pakistan’s Raza Rabbani Calls for Global Recognition of Palestine’s Right to Resistance

ISLAMABAD, Feb 16 (EPI): Prominent Pakistani political leaders have reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, calling for international recognition of the right to resist occupation under global legal frameworks.

Speaking at The Echo of Palestine International Conference in Islamabad, former Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani emphasized that international law unequivocally upholds the Palestinian people’s struggle.

Rabbani pointed to five key international conventions, signed by world nations, which establish the legal foundation for resistance against occupation.

“The United Nations recognizes the right to self-determination. If a country is under occupation, war is a legitimate response. The international community is obligated to stand with the oppressed and help liberate them from aggression.”

He further highlighted that these conventions require unconditional support for occupied nations, regardless of race, religion, or identity, adding that Gazans have every right to resist under these legal principles.

Condemnation of Israeli-Indian Nexus

Senator Mushahid Hussain, also addressing the conference, warned of growing strategic ties between Israel and India, calling it an unacceptable alliance against oppressed nations.

“Palestinians and Kashmiris are engaged in legitimate struggles against oppressive regimes. The global power structure is shifting, and we will soon witness the dawn of Palestinian freedom.”

Hussain urged Palestinian allies to persist in their fight for sovereignty without waiting for U.S. approval or fearing dominant geopolitical forces.

A Call for Unified Action

Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Ameerul Azeem echoed similar sentiments, declaring that the tide of history is turning, and Palestinian liberation is within reach.

The session also featured remarks from former Senator Javed Jabbar, reinforcing Pakistan’s consistent diplomatic and moral support for Palestinian independence.

As the conference progresses, discussions continue on the role of international law, the necessity of strategic alliances, and the urgency of a unified global movement for Palestine’s sovereignty.
